Miki,
Isn’t everything about good listening? Employees quit because their boss doesn’t listen to them. Spouses divorce for the same reason. Salespeople don’t sell because they don’t listen to their prospects. The only thing that you don’t want to listen to is negative self-talk. Like when you wonder if anyone would notice if you stopped writing.

Absolutely right, Rick! Everything is about good listening, so it needs to be part of a person’s MAP—not something that is turned on and off. As to the negative self-talk, I think everyone hears it on occasion—the important thing, as you say, is to neither listen nor act on it.
