Multi-tasking *IS* a myth! At my company, we are now in the habit of intensely focusing on as few projects as possible for a shorter period of time, with more intensity. MUCH better!

Cheers,

Thanks, Dave. That's one of my favorite songs, but I didn't think anybody else remembered it. Oops, you're dating yourself—and me, too!

HI David, my apologies for not responding in a more timely fashion—it won't happen again:)

I couple of years ago I wrote two posts for Scott Allen, who was killing himself by multitasking and not saying 'no'.

Know how to say no!

And a three-parter,

The backlash of saying “No”

Hope they help.

Hi Dave, thanks for stopping by. I'm all for anything that punches holes in the multitasking = productivity myth.

Miki:

I spend too much of my day multitasking

...just a second there's the phone...oh look at that report that is overdue...yes my son I can drive you in 10 minutes...I'll take the cell along to call the client...let's talk about your career son...just a second that's mom on the phone she needs us to get a few things at Safeway...you get them I'll stop at the Starbucks in the store and email the Ottawa person...

I am tired just writing this.
